St. Catharines Council to Talk about Proposed Reptile Zoo

Council will meet subsequent week to debate proposed Reptilia location at Fairview Mall.

St. Catharines Metropolis Council is holding a gathering subsequent Monday to debate permitting a reptile zoo to function in Fairview Mall. 

Present bylaws limit a number of the reptiles that may be a part of the proposed Reptilia location, together with some venomous snakes. 

Whereas metropolis workers have really helpful permitting the enterprise to function within the former IKEA house on the mall, animal welfare organizations reminiscent of Niagara Motion for Animals, Zoocheck Inc., and the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society have spoken out towards the transfer, citing public security considerations.

Reptilia, which has places in Vaughn and Whitby, claims over three-quarters of its animals are rescues
