POWELL, Ohio — The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium introduced its latest addition to its Shores and Aquarium area on Wednesday.
The Humboldt penguin was born on March 20 and has been rising quick, in keeping with the zoo.
The zoo mentioned since they introduced in all their birds indoors due to the avian flu, the animal care staff has been hand-raising the newborn penguin and can slowly introduce it to the penguin colony.
The care staff collected blood on Friday from the chick to find out if it’s a male or feminine.
The diet staff is offering a fish-based system for the newborn, who’s transitioning to a small fish eating regimen. The zoo mentioned the chick has already developed sturdy muscle groups and might sit up tall and stroll round extra.
