CINCINNATI (Grey Information) – Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Backyard officers introduced that they may identify a one-month-old little blue penguin “Rose” after Betty White’s “Golden Women” character.
The announcement got here Jan. 17 as a tribute to White on what would have been her one hundredth birthday. White was a lifelong animal lover and champion of zoos and conservation efforts.
Cody Sowers, Cincinnati Zoo’s hen workforce head keeper, mentioned in a press launch that Rose is wholesome and on monitor to maneuver to the little blue penguin habitat quickly. Rose will be a part of the colony of greater than 30 different penguins, and guests will get to see her when the climate will get hotter.
The little blue penguin is the smallest species of penguin, rising to a mean top of 13 inches.
