New rescue, breeding and analysis base for large pandas created

The captive breeding pandas in northwest China’s Shaanxi Province have a brand new dwelling, the Foping Rescue, Breeding and Analysis Base of Qinling Big Panda, or just Foping Panda Base. 

Foping County in Shaanxi Province lies on the southern facet of the Qinling Mountains, one of many important habitats for the enormous panda and plenty of uncommon animals and vegetation. It has been awarded the Foping Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO. 

Formally named on October 21, the Foping Panda Base simply completed its first development part. The bottom is in Shawo Village. It’s 18 kilometers from the middle of Foping County and at an altitude of 1,350 meters above sea stage. Pandas there can keep of their indoor “panda home” and have 20 outside playgrounds.  

Two of the practical zones are designed to serve the needs of panda breeding, wild coaching and wild panda rescuing. One other two zones are for public training and guests.  

The captive breeding pandas are much less robust than the wild ones, particularly their hind legs. Employees members use a bamboo pole with meals tied on it to tempt the pandas to face up on their hind legs and train their muscle tissues.  

Within the Eighties, there have been solely about 10 wild pandas in Foping. After years of conservation, the quantity has elevated to about 130, which accounts for a 3rd of the entire inhabitants within the Qinling Mountains. The wild big panda’s inhabitants density in Foping can also be the best within the nation.
